Foundation Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications (Foundation) will contribute to the development and execution of the Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation’s marketing and communications strategy, mission and goals.

The Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications (Foundation) is responsible for producing content across a variety of digital platforms and media, that adheres to the overall purpose, brand, and message of the Delta Tau Delta enterprise in concert with the director of enterprise communications. The successful candidate is proficient in graphic design, content development from conception to completion, copywriting, social media, and video production and editing.  This position is not remote eligible and will be based in our Central Office in Indianapolis, IN. Hybrid eligible following a 90-day probationary period.

The Delta Tau Delta marketing and communications department operates from an agency philosophy, fielding requests from various internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate must elevate the team’s ability to conceptualize, create, and deliver high-quality products while maintaining enterprise standards.

 

Essential Duties

Functional Requirements, Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Collaborate with the director of enterprise communications in executing responsibilities, including magazine production, event marketing, and brand management. 
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deadlines while ensuring consistent quality and progress across all initiatives. 
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of communications trends and concepts. 
  • Plan, implement and manage all newsletter publications and website content for the Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation website and beyond. 
  • Support other departments in the creation and implementation of print and digital media. 
  • Create compelling video materials, owning the creative process, including storyboarding, scripting, filming, editing, and final production. 
  • Own, strategize, create, and schedule intentional content on a variety of social media platforms.
  • Daily monitor and interact with social conversations mentioning Delta Tau Delta brand, competitors, and news that may be helpful to further advance the overall brand. 
  • Apply the brand standards guide to all print, audio, and video communication to ensure consistency throughout Foundation materials. 
  • Assist in quality control, inventory management and logistical oversight for products and materials developed by the marketing and communications team.
  • Promote donor-giving societies and opportunities for philanthropic engagement.
  • Develop and implement the Foundation’s overarching donor onboarding and stewardship strategy.
  • Oversee the Foundation’s donor stewardship and recognition program.

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate as needed with outside vendors/agencies to create original content or direct the vendor/agency to maintain brand consistency.
  • Attend programs, events, and leadership experiences, as necessary. 
  • Represent the organization and act as an ambassador of Delta Tau Delta. 
  • Assist with other duties and projects as assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications (Education, experience, knowledge, skills, overtime, licenses, etc.): 

  • Candidates should have completed a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of professional experience. Previous experience in the fraternity and sorority industry is preferred.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate with people in a group setting to guide them to make decisions and act. 
  • Passion for social media, emerging technology, and digital marketing. 
  • Demonstrates ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines for projects. 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of SEO. 
  • Demonstrated portfolio of original writing, art, and graphics. 
  • Proven ability to create trust and develop relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. 
  • A strong knowledge and breadth of experience using creative tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
